
The NewWave SmartVAR program is designed to support our VAR’s marketing efforts through the selective allocation of Market Development Funds (MDF) to help offset the cost of our channel’s marketing activities. The NewWave Marketing group assists our VARs with hundreds of activities on an annual basis. We would love to work with you! Our goal is your goal – to increase your sales and profits.

NewWave invests in activities that are profitable to you; lead generation and qualified referrals are just a few of the valuable results of participating in NewWave’s SmartVAR Program.
How Does the SmartVAR Program Work?
SmartVAR funds are made available to customers who select NewWave as their preferred distributor for their imaging purchases. Furthermore, funding is more readily available for NewWave as their preferred distributor for Kodak, Kofax, Fujitsu, Panini, and Böwe Bell & Howell (BB&H) products.
A prerequisite for participation in the SmartVAR program is participants must be in good credit standing to be eligible. In addition an annual business review with our field representatives to identify your revenue expectation by vendor and a discussion on how NewWave can assist you in your strategy.
The funding offered to our VARs within this program comes in the form of pass-through MDF support from our strategic vendor partners to NewWave. Important: This requires NewWave to follow stringent vendor program policies that may limit our flexibility in MDF of any given marketing initiative. VARs must adhere to the approval and reimbursement policies outlined below. Some specific highlights:
MDF accrual rates with NewWave vary depending on the VAR’s commitment to NewWave, what vendors/products you promote and continued support of the program from the vendors. Generally, Kodak customers can anticipate, for planning purposes, an accrual of approximately .75% of net purchases from NewWave for those products. Customers purchasing other products from NewWave can generally anticipate a 0.5% accrual rate subject to the availability of funds.
Please note: Canon and Rimage customers must go directly to the manufacturer for MDF. No MDF will be given directly through NewWave.
Funds accrue on a calendar year basis as a percentage of net purchases by participating vendors. VAR’s have until March 31st of the following year to complete the activity to qualify for reimbursement.
